Several popular destinations are located in the province, from its Roman capital Tarragona to the hotspots of Salou or Cambrils but also a world class amusement park at Port Aventura, near Salou, or medieval towns like Tortosa or Miravet. One of the most beautiful cellar and oil mills in all Europe is located in the town of Gandesa and, not far, the area around Horta de Sant Joan is one of the less spoilt spots by tourism in all Catalonia. Finally, worth mentioning too the wetlands of the Ebre river, the largest wetland in Catalonia, and one of the most important in the Mediterranean region. The estuary of the river, which gives its name to this region, forms a first class nature reserve, with a richness of flora and fauna beyond compare.
